Hypercar Mercedes-AMG One is a beast

Back in 2017 Mercedes already announced that they are working on a new hypercar for on the public road but they overdone themselves.

Idea of the Project One Hypercar from Mercedes-Benz is simple; bring Formula 1 technology to the mass-market. And boy have they done a great job. But there is a downside to this, the release has been postponed by almost two years because they want to build the powertrain from the ground up. This means you cannot drive the Mercedes-Benz One (worth almost 3 million euro’s) until mid 2021!

The Mercedes-Benz One creates the connection between the race track and pubic road. The developers have changed the Formula 1 engine only as far as it was absolutely necessary for the license and everyday usability. The whole thing is combined with an electric motor that delivers 120 kW each on both front wheels. The energy for this comes from the same batteries that are also used in Formula 1. The range over the hybrid mode is about 25 km, which should be enough. The 1100-hp system will hype the sports car for financially strong drivers from 0 to 200 in just under 6 seconds. It seems that Mercedes has designed a driving style that is unrivaled. The top speed of the car is just 350 km/h.

The design is radical, a large tail with a wing at the rear. The whole thing was tested in the wind tunnel. Inside, the vehicle is sober but modern.
