Electric skateboards are the new guys in town, on the street and at the skate park. Arguably one of the biggest new tech trends of 2016, electric longboards have taken the electric tech and longboarding worlds by storm and it’s easy to see why.
What is an electric skateboard or electric longboard?
No longer reserved for keen or seasoned skateboarders, electric longboards are accessible to everyone, at any level of experience. An electric longboard, or E-board, is a modified skateboard powered by an electric motor under the control of a wireless remote, for controlled, powerful and effortless acceleration.
Manual skateboards move faster downhill or when the rider uses force to push forwards. However, electric longboards accelerate with ease using the hand-held controller, allowing a smooth and effortless ride, while steering just like a normal board by leaning side to side,
In an ever-growing competitive market, Slick Revolution’s Min-E and Max-Eboard are fashionable, fast and fierce, and stand a cut above the rest.
At a glance…
The Min-E is the more compact little brother of the Max-Eboard, however both electric longboards offer similar impressive features and specification.
Both boards can tackle 10 degree slopes with ease, and offer a top speed of 20mph on the flat. The boards owe this huge power to their 1200W motors and protected Lithium Ion (Li+) batteries, housed under the board in a protective casing. The battery and motor are dustproof and anti-splash, however we don’t recommend riding in the rain.
The Min-E, just 58 cm long and weighing only 7kgs, it the worlds smallest mass-produced electric skateboard. It’s compact size makes it easy to carry and store, and is a big hit with urban commuters who glide from boardwalk to boardroom with ease by simply hooking it onto their backpack.
The Max-Eboard electric longboard measures 91 cm long however is only half a kilo heavier than the Min-Eboard electric skateboard and handles much like a manual longboard. This board is perfect for relaxed cruising down the street or boardwalk, or boost your acceleration at the click of a button for a more exhilarating thrill ride.
Both boards come with an easy-to-use remote control offering 3 speed settings: slow, medium and full speed, and a cruise control function for a relaxed ride at any speed. Powerful electric braking is built into both boards and is also activated from the handheld controller, allowing the rider to have maximum control over speed at all times. The remote also displays the remaining battery life of the electric longboard.
The handheld controller is rechargeable through the USB port located under the board, which can also double up as a handy phone charger on the go. The boards come with spare parts and all hardware is compatible with standard UK board parts.
